Shropshire County Agricultural Show
The next Agricultural Show will be held on 25th May 2013
More than 15,000 people from across the country poured through the gates at the 2012 Shropshire County Agricultural Show.
The event, held at the West Mid Showground in Shrewsbury on Saturday May 26th, has been hailed as one of the best ever with organisers praising all exhibitors, traders, sponsors and everyone involved.
The sun shone all day on the showground and with hundreds of youngsters heading to the new Kids Zone, record trade stand numbers and record livestock entries the show has been hailed a success across the board.
Show director Bernie Hutchinson said the show saw some of the highest cattle numbers seen in many years.
“This traditional agricultural event was shared and admired by thousands of people from throughout Shropshire and the West Midlands and was a true showcase and shop window for Shropshire and national agriculture.
“Some of the highest cattle numbers seen in many years with 369 beef entries and 132 dairy, graced the cattle show rings and were judged by a national team of judges representing no fewer than 14 beef breeds and 5 dairy breeds.
“One judge commented on the day it was one or the best shows of cattle he had seen for a number of years and a real credit to the exhibitors and the show for hosting a fantastic and well organised event.”
